Wallpaper rolls, explained
A pattern that runs from strip to strip.
Patterned wallpaper comes in rolls. Strips are hung side by side and the pattern continues from one to the next. Here is everything you need to know.
The roll
21 in wide, 33 ft long
Our rolls are 21 in (53 cm) wide and 33 ft (10 m) long: about 57 sq ft (5.3 m²) per roll. Some designs come 54 in (137 cm) wide, cut to length. The size is always shown on the product page.
We send all the rolls of one order from the same production batch whenever possible, so the colors match from strip to strip.
Pattern repeat & match
Straight match: the pattern lines up
The pattern repeat is the height after which the design starts again. Our designs use a straight match: the pattern lines up at the same height on every strip, so each strip starts at the same point of the design.
Matching the pattern uses a little extra paper. We include it for you, at no extra cost.
How many rolls do I need?
Nothing to calculate.
Enter the width and height of your wall on the product page. We work out the rolls you need, with the trimming margin and the extra paper for the pattern match, and send them to you. You only pay for the size of your wall, by the square foot.
Wall cloth
No seams at all
Our woven wall cloths are 110 in (2.80 m) high. They are hung sideways, in one long length across the wall, so there is no vertical seam. It is a two-person job: we recommend a professional decorator.
How it is hung
Apply the paste to the wall, then hang each strip, lining up the pattern before smoothing. All the steps are in our hanging guide.
Delivery
Rolls are delivered in about 2 weeks, free and tracked, duties and taxes included.
Check before hanging
Check that all your rolls have the same batch number and look right before you start. Something wrong? Tell us within 3 days of delivery.
